is the sliding deadman removable ? how did you get it in place?
On the original bench at the Vasa museum have a small strip of oak nailed to the underside of the benchtop. The sliping deadman are held in place with this. This strip are reconstructed after some nail holes. This details are therefore not something I am shure about. We got our deadman in place by fixing the strip after we put it in place. We would have to remove the strip to remove the deadman.
